Data FAIRport Requirements
Data FAIRport Requirements
Goals
- The goal is to define the essential requirements for the first prototype of the Data FAIRport.
Background and strategic fit
As a deliverable of the FAIR-dICT project and also to set an initial effort towards the intended data interoperability platform, we are working on the development of the first prototype of the Data FAIRport.
Assumptions
Requirements
# | Title | User Story | Importance | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Publish data | A data producer/owner wants to publish her data so that they become available in a FAIR way. | Must | The publication of data can mean to publish only the metadata to the Data FAIRport so that the data can be found and also publish the metadata and data to the Data FAIRport. |
2 | Search data | A data consumer wants to find datasets contains data based on a given criteria such as data type, subject, etc. | Must | |
3 | Access data | Once a dataset has been found matching the given criteria, the data owner wants to access the data. | Must | The data may be accessible directly from the Data FAIRport, i.e., the data has been published and host by the FAIRport, or may be accessible from a data repository that is external to the FAIRport. In the latter case, the FAIRport contains information (metadata) about the dataset's access point. |
